Safety Rules

Every Diggers and Bandits RC session, public or private, runs with hands-on staff supervision from setup to wrap-up. Our team is there to help you get comfortable behind the controls, keep the pit running safely, and step in if anything needs adjusting. These rules apply everywhere we set up.

We built this for kids and adults alike. Most activities suit ages 5 and up.

• Kids under 10 should have an adult nearby who can step in if needed. Younger or less confident drivers are welcome to share the controls with a parent.
• Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who stays present for the full session. We're not able to supervise unaccompanied minors.
• Adults are just as welcome behind the sticks as kids. Take a turn.

Pop-ups, currently weekends around Cypress and Katy, are walk-up, no reservation, no experience needed.

• Turns are first-come, first-served. Our team manages the line and lets you know when a machine is free.
• One operator per machine at a time. Hand off the controller when your turn is up so the next person can dig in.
• Listen for staff direction, especially when the pit gets busy.

For birthday parties, corporate events, and other reservations, the same rules apply, plus a few extras.

• Whoever books the event agrees to a liability waiver and release as part of confirming the reservation, and should share these safety rules with guests ahead of time. See our Terms of Service.
• We need reasonably flat, accessible ground to set up the dig pit safely. We'll walk through site requirements with you before the big day.
• Our team runs the safety briefing for guests on arrival, same as at a market pop-up.

• Keep hands and fingers clear of moving booms, buckets, and treads. These are scaled-down machines, but the moving parts are real.
• No riding, sitting on, or climbing onto any equipment. It's built to be driven from the outside, not from on top.
• Drive at a controlled pace inside the pit boundary. No ramming other machines or intentionally flipping a unit.
• If a machine stops responding or acts unusually, stop and tell a staff member. Don't force the controls or try to fix it yourself.

• Closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended for anyone digging in the sand.
• Keep food and drinks out of the pit itself. It's sand, and it doesn't mix well with lunch.
• We're outdoors, so plan for the weather: sunscreen and water on hot days, and a heads-up from our team if conditions turn unsafe.
• Watch your step around cords, controllers, and the pit's edge, especially with younger kids nearby.

Our team handles all charging, battery swaps, and equipment maintenance. You're welcome to ask questions, but please don't open, charge, or service any unit yourself. Treat the fleet with the same care you'd want someone to treat your own gear.

Our staff have the final say on the pit floor.

• We can pause or end anyone's turn for unsafe, reckless, or disruptive operation. No exceptions.
• Be patient with the line and respectful of other operators, especially at busy market pop-ups.
• Follow posted signage and staff instructions at all times, even if they differ from what's written here. Conditions on the ground come first.

Tell a staff member immediately if anyone is hurt, if equipment malfunctions, or if anything about the setup feels unsafe. Our team will pause the activity, take a look, and help however they can. Don't wait until after your turn to flag a problem.
